I was recently booked for a fashion photo shoot in London’s dynamic Southbank, organised by the lovely photographer Anastasia @anastasiaoss. The theme for hair and makeup was just the colour RED. This was the only direction I was given, which was fab! It meant that I could really put my own creativity into it. Fashion designer @hyeonhye created four very cool outfits, two red and two white – all of which worked brilliantly on our models Dorota @teija_ and Sofia @s014mente. Sofia has gorgeous brown hair with a lovely reddish tint and we decided to pair her with the white outfits, and Dorota’s colouring suited the red.
For the first makeup look I went for the obvious bold red lip. To emphasise the red, I left the rest of the face almost bare. Just a little concealer here and there and a sweep of blush, as well as adding white pencil to the eye waterline which looked very striking with no mascara and eyebrows groomed upwards to appear natural and fluffy. For the second makeup look I went a little bolder, we kept the red lip, but added foundation, a little contouring, lots of mascara and a bold red flicked liner.
Hair was a lot of fun on this shoot. Dorota has thick blonde hair down to her hips so I gave her an Ariana Grande style ponytail. I slicked all her hair onto the top of her head, wrapped a little hair around the hair band and BAM…simple but striking! For Sofia’s hair I used a slightly different approach, I went a little more creative and after putting her hair in a top knot I used all the fly aways to create a crazy pattern glued to her face.
A few weeks later I received the best news, our images got a 14 page spread in the magazine Salyse!
